Hidden Histories - Introduction

This program was developed by Museum Victoria and the Department of Education, Employment and Training to assist in the documentation of oral histories of indigenous communities and to increase the wider community's understanding of these cultures.

This is an opportunity for Koori and non-Koori students to form a partnership with Museum Victoria. While the target group are Koori students, and other indigenous people from around Australia and the world, all students are encouraged to participate.

There are many stories to be told about the triumphs and tragedies of ordinary people in the community. Students will have their own local identities, heroes and legends whom they admire greatly or who they feel have a 'hidden history' that (with appropriate permsissions) they might wish to tell.
